Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-driven animal rescue that consists of a small network of foster care homes, community partners, and a cage-free Adoption Center at 810 S. Commercial St. in Neenah, Wisconsin.

In September, 2008, OARS was founded by six animal lovers who saw the need within the Fox Cities community to save the lives of more homeless pets and set in motion the steps needed to ensure a future in which there are no more homeless pets in Wisconsin.

The pets arriving at our rescue primarily come from other local rescue groups and humane organizations when they need help or are over capacity. We pride ourselves on the high quality of care we provide to each and every animal. The cats at the Adoption Center enjoy life with views of bird feeders, sunny napping spots, and a cage-free environment.  We have multiple cat adoption rooms where many wonderful cat personalities are eager to greet you and are hoping for their forever adoptive home. We feed high-quality foods and adhere to strict standards to ensure the best medical care is given to all pets in our care.

We receive no funding (local, state or government); we rely completely on donations and fundraising to save the lives of the homeless pets in our care. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Because of our strong commitment to partner with other Wisconsin animal organizations, OARS does not take in pets from the public or accept stray pets. We always have a waiting list of pets in need. If you find a stray, please contact your local animal control for assistance.

With your help, we are creating a network of animal lovers who will change the world — one homeless pet at a time.
